Clamper circuit lab manual

Electronics Devices Instrumentation Lab (18ECL37) ECE Dept, VSMSRKIT, Nipani Page 7 Clamping Circuits: Theory: A Clamper circuit can be defined as the circuit that consists of a diode, a resistor and a capacitor that shifts the waveform to a desired DC level without changing the actual appearance of the applied signal. POSITIVE CLAMPER CIRCUIT. A clamping circuit is used to “clamp” a signal to a fixed DC level. This is also known as “DC restoration.” This term dates back to the first television receivers which needed to restore a transmitted signal to a reference value to set the black level. A simple clamping circuit is shown below in fig. 7. diode, negative clamper circuit is designed as shown in Figure The DC value is approximately V DC = - 10V+V=V. Fig. Simulation result of negative clamper (x) Biased positive clamper: The circuit of a positively biased clamper circuit is shown in Figure When negative half cycle goes, the diode is. The circuit for a positive clamper is shown in the figure. During the negative half cycle of the input signal, the diode conducts and acts like a short circuit. The output voltage V o = 0V. The capacitor is charged to the peak value of input voltage V m. and it behaves like a battery. During the positive half of the input signal, the diode does. Figure 5 – Clamping Circuit 1. 5.
